My journey since leaving Loreto College,St Stephen's Green
I'm currently a local Fine Gael TD representing the Dún Laoghaire constituency. To be honest, there isn't anything that isn't interesting, still 6 years into being a public representative, every day people come to me with new problems, new questions, new solutions and every day is different so it can't not be interesting. I'm also the Minister for Health which is equally as interesting, again no two days are the same.
Example of a typical day
I landed into Dublin Airport at 2am having partaken in the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva. With a few hours sleep under my belt, I headed to a local primary school for a Inclusive Sports Day, then into the Department for Health for a quarterly meeting with the Secretary General of the Department, all the unit heads and the HSE. I headed into the Dáil Chamber for Leader's Questions. I then had a meeting with Dáil colleagues on health matters of concern to them and the areas they represent. I then had a joint meeting with the Departments of Justice and Foreign Affairs to review the recent Gaza Medevac of 4 children and their families. I had the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party meeting. Finally, with Dáil votes ongoing where essentially you can be in and out of the Dáil Chamber back and forth for a number of hours, I made phone calls and answered emails from Dún Laoghaire constituents, and read briefing material for the next day. Then home to bed once Dáil votes wrapped up at 10pm….it's long and busy, but it be consistently interesting makes it worth it!
Favorite memory from Loreto College

The teacher whom most influenced me
It's impossible to pick just one so, Sister Elizabeth Cotter, Maria Rooney, Mary McAteer and Elaine O'Connor.
Career advice for current leaving cert students
Do what you love and worker harder at it than anyone else. And be kind, to yourself and your peers.

Resilience and using your brain
The one thing I would love to come back to the school and do is
Play basketball.
Plans for the next few years
Eh….make an impact in the Department of Health, or even just survive it!
